Description
Zsófia Bárczi (1973), writer, literary historian, university lecturer, lives in Érsekújvár. In his book Mezsgye, distant areas of literature that appeared in the author's previous volumes are once again brought together: the questions of Hungarian literature in Slovakia, the Spanish translation of Hungarian literature, and Catholic literature. The central part of the book is made up of studies on "(Czecho)Slovakian Hungarian novels" between the two wars, in which the author attempts to re-read and re-evaluate works that fell out of the forefront of literary interest of the period. In addition to the issues of crisis, identity, personality, and marginalization, the author is concerned with the metaphorization of the novel language, questions of world-like and text-like readability, and the methods of creating identity.
