The author confronts the historical and public events of the last hundred years with the thoughts of the cause of theater and especially Hungarian drama. Beginning with the station on September 30, 1919, when the audience of Hamlet's performance at the Hungarian National Theater in Cluj-Napoca was disturbed by the Romanian army from their own theater. Then came the return of Northern Transylvania; the author discusses the theatrical thoughts of Zoltán Szabó, who emigrated to London, in a separate study. In the chapter entitled Triptych in Bolshevik, he cites three tragic artists of theatrical life between 1945 and 1960 (Sári Déry, Gábor Földes, Endre Gellért). In another chapter, with the help of personal memories and documents, he recalls the figure of Gyula Illyés and Miklós Hubay, and inserts the previously unknown documents of Áron Tamási into the oeuvre and explores the last years of Géza Páskándi in detail. The final chapter of the volume, which also permeated public affairs, is the interview with Attila Vidnyánszky and the conversation summarizing the artistic career of Péter Blaskó. Some of the studies in this book are based on materials from the Historical Archives of the State Security Services.
