In the volume, we publish archival documents about the direct and prolonged impact of the Hungarian revolution of 1956 on Ukrainian society between 1956-1959. We publish special and operational reports and notes that shed light on the broad resonance of the revolutionary events in the cultural and scientific environment, among university students - including foreign guest students - and among workers. They obtained information about all of this by means of operational means, above all from the agents and by checking mail. Documents will also be published that present the most important events based on the exchanges of letters between the State Security Committee in Kyiv and the central State Security Committee in Moscow, on the basis of instructions from "above", but included in the volume are the regular reports on the current situation prepared for the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine also summaries. The documents of the "post-revolutionary" period show the lingering effect of the revolutionary events, the preservation of its ideas and the observation of the persons who participated in them, the proceedings initiated against them. In the appendix, we publish the photographs of the persons in the volume, including the victims of the retaliation.
